AfCFTA, #IOTA & Partners Launch ADAPT to Transform Pan-African Trade! The African Continental Free Trade Area @AfCFTA, in partnership with @IOTA Foundation, @WEF and the Tony Blair @InstituteGC has launched ADAPT, a digital trade initiative designed to streamline cross-border commerce across Africa. ADAPT introduces $USDT-based payments, standardized digital trade documents, and secure digital identities, aiming to cut costs, reduce fraud and speed up customs processing. The program will expand from 2026, targeting all 55 member states by 2035. Key impacts include: - Connecting 1.5B people across Africa on a unified trade infrastructure - Cutting border clearance times from 14 days to under 3 - Reducing cross-border payment fees from 6–9% to below 3% - Doubling intra-African trade, unlocking $70B+ annually IOTA provides the technological backbone, enabling verifiable, interoperable digital data for shipments, documents and transactions, creating a secure, efficient and inclusive trading ecosystem for Africa.
