lots of op labs staff is leaving, and not that quietly it’s a shame, the vision of the ether’s phoenix is actually one of the clearest visions i’ve seen in my whole life also the superchain made so much sense for the ethereum future focused on offchain scalability but then something broke i suspect base got the whole stage, and outshone op mainnet itself and then L1 narrative coming back to hype, especially stablechains i said this many times, and i won’t stop repeating myself: base will become an L1 in the next 2-3 years or even before that, because it’s running on profit only if you don’t count staff salary and expenses - if you count that, it’s running at a loss, and the 15% revenue share it gives to the superchain is starting to weigh heavily op started as the first scaling solution (it was then called plasma back in 2017-2018, funny enough if you think that plasma is the first L1 stablechain to go to mainnet), but it has to evolve optimistic confirmation - i know about some progress within the ef to agree on a shorter withdrawal delay, from 7 days to only a few hours things change so fast, so much so that in one year the scenario has completely changed from scaling on ethereum only (and everything that was outside ethereum was crap) to recognize blockspace as a compliance and economic choice
